Wheat Flour
Anything made with flour was supposed to be made from fresh ground wheat flour. If white flour was used Dad would announce - "White Flour - That is not fit to eat". Dad often made the bread. He taught me how to make it when I was a teenager. He showed me how when the dough starts to come off the edge of the bosch mixing bowl then there was enough flour. It seemed to pain Dad to add any white flour to a batch of bread. We would go through periods of time when it was necessary to add white flour to the bread to get it to rise properly (I think it must have been batches of old wheat). Dad always understood the importance of eating healthy.
